Hosting
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (USA). When you open a page, Vercel processes the technical data needed to deliver it: your IP address, date and time, the page you requested, your browser and operating system, and the referring page. This data is kept in server logs for a short time and used to run the site and keep it secure.
The servers that handle the forms run in the EU (Dublin, Ireland). Because Vercel is a US company, data may also be processed in the USA. Vercel is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and the processing is covered by a data processing agreement with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is a working and secure website.
Database
What you send through the forms is stored with Supabase Inc. on servers in Ireland (EU). Supabase is a US company, so access from the USA cannot be ruled out. This is covered by a data processing agreement with the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Email updates
If you sign up for updates, I store your email address, the form you used and the time. I use it to send you a short email when a new interview or build goes live.
Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing hi@ostrine.com. I then delete your address.
I don’t send any emails yet. Before I do, I will add a confirmation step and name the email service I use here.
Interview applications
If you apply for an interview, I store your name, the link you send, your answer to “Why should I interview you?”, your email address and the time. I use this to review your application and to reply to you.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, steps you asked for before a possible collaboration. If no interview comes out of it, I delete your application after 12 months at the latest. If we do an interview, we agree on the recording and publishing separately.
Cookies
The public website sets no cookies and uses no tracking or analytics tools. Fonts are stored on this server, so your browser does not connect to Google or other font services.
Only the internal area, which only I can use, sets a login cookie. It is technically necessary (§ 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG).
Email and contact form
If you email me or use the contact form, I use your address and message to reply. Messages from the form are stored in the database above. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if it is about working together. I delete the emails when they are no longer needed.
Links to social networks
The icons for YouTube, X, TikTok and Instagram are plain links. No data goes to these platforms until you click one. After that, the privacy policy of the platform applies.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to receive it in a common format and to object to its processing (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. Just email hi@ostrine.com.
You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HBDI) in Wiesbaden.
You don’t have to give me any data. Without it, I just can’t reply to you or send you updates. I don’t use automated decision-making.
